BOTOX® Cosmetic

By injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic, the purified chemical version of botulinum toxin type A, into the skin, Dr. Hove can freeze the facial muscles that cause deep wrinkles and furrows to form. It takes only a few minutes to administer this safe and convenient treatment, making BOTOX® treatment one of the most popular nonsurgical procedures that our practice offers. It smoothes out frown lines, smile lines, and crow's feet — often completely erasing them within a week of treatment. Sometimes referred to as the nonsurgical brow lift, BOTOX® injections can also correct the elevation of drooping eyebrows.

Contour ThreadLift™

Men and women who want a more youthful appearance but don't want to undergo a full facelift or traditional brow lift are good candidates for this minimally invasive procedure. Contour ThreadLift™ provides subtle, natural-looking results through the use of specially designed threads made of clear polypropylene. The threads, which are inserted under the skin in precise locations, are covered in tiny barbs that gently open and create a suspension effect when sagging tissue adheres to them. Contour ThreadLift™ can be used to lift drooping cheeks and eyebrows, reposition asymmetric eyebrows, and smooth out prematurely aged skin.

Facial Waxing

The aestheticians at Hove Center for Facial Plastic Surgery offer facial waxing to patients who wish to discreetly eliminate unwanted hair from areas such as the chin, lip, and brow. During this procedure, wax is applied to the skin and allowed to harden. When the wax is removed, the unwanted hair is pulled off with it. The results are immediate, but touch-up sessions are usually recommended to keep the skin as smooth as possible.

Injectable Fillers

As our skin ages, the underlying tissues that keep it looking plumped-up and youthful begin to break down. Compounded by the effects of gravity, sun exposure and even years of smiling, squinting, and chewing, this process usually results in deep facial creases. Laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet, and other imperfections in the face can be remedied with injectable fillers. When delivered beneath the skin, products such as Restylane® and Radiesse™ will fill in the creased and sunken areas of the face. Fillers are also a highly effective way to enhance sunken lips and cheeks. The following treatments are effective either as stand-alone procedures or when done in tandem with other facial rejuvenation options, such as laser skin resurfacing or facelift.

Restylane® & Juvederm™

Restylane® is a clear, biodegradable gel based on the natural substance hyaluronic acid. When injected under the skin's surface in tiny amounts, it reduces fine lines around the lips, mouth, cheeks, and forehead — and delivers a soft, natural look that can last for many months. Since the injection only takes several minutes and has no downtime, this is an extremely popular way to reduce unwanted wrinkles and create beautifully enhanced lips with a natural look and feel.

Radiesse™

A new injectable filler made from calcium, Radiesse™ has full roster of skin-enhancing benefits. It can plump the lips, lift deep lines, enhance the cheeks, and correct facial defects or recessions. Radiesse™ is made of calcium hydroxylapatite, a synthetic material that has similar chemical and structural characteristics as bone and teeth. Because of this, it is safely absorbed by the body.

Laser Vein Reduction

While veins that are visible through the skin pose no real health risk, they can make those who suffer from them feel self-conscious about their appearance. Laser vein reduction treats red and pink veins most effectively, and can eliminated unsightly veins from either the face or legs. This advanced treatment uses highly concentrated rays of light to destroy the blood vessels. Additional visits are often required to erase the veins completely, but once achieved, the results are usually permanent.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Glycolic Peels

A glycolic acid peel is a mild chemical peel that employs an alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane. Patients with a history of acne problems find that this rapid exfoliating treatment is effective in drying lesions; reducing scarring, and decreasing blackheads. Chemical Peels

During this procedure, a chemical solution specifically formulated for each patient's skin type and condition is applied to the face — removing the outer layers of skin to reveal smoother, clearer, and more radiant skin. Chemical peels treat wrinkles, blemishes, freckles, sun damage, age spots, and even pre-cancerous growths. In some cases, the treatment can control acne and soften acne scars. Light peels use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). Medium peels use trichloroacetic acid (TCAs). And deep peels use phenol. Paraffin Hand Treatments

In addition to providing therapeutic benefits that range from improved circulation and skin tone to relief for aching joints, paraffin hand treatment is a luxury not to be missed. One of our trained aestheticians will submerge your hands into a warm wax bath until a soothing paraffin glove forms on your hands. Then, we'll slip your paraffin-covered hands into cloth mitts to let your muscles release tension and your skin rehydrate.
