Rejuvenate Your Appearance by Treating Frown Lines

Woman with a smooth forehead and brow lineThere are few things more frustrating than putting effort into your appearance, and then having someone comment how tired, upset, or worn down you look. Unfortunately, no matter how much sleep a person gets or how much makeup is applied, there is no hiding deep lines and wrinkles.

Frown lines are an especially common problem. These lines often make a person look mad, unrested, or older. Constant use of facial muscles, exposure to harsh environmental elements, and a loss of facial elasticity can all contribute to these unwanted lines.

A brow lift smooths the skin across the forehead to restore a more youthful appearance. That is just one treatment for frown lines available to our Paoli, PA patients. Dr. Christopher R. Hove offers surgical and non-surgical treatment to smooth the skin along the forehead and minimize the appearance of frown lines.

Non-surgical Frown Line Treatment

Plastic surgery is a popular option for frown line treatment, but some patients wish to avoid invasive treatment or do not have lines that are severe enough to require cosmetic surgery. Dr. Hove offers a range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments that minimize the appearance of frown lines and rejuvenate a patient’s appearance. Two of the most effective non-surgical treatments for frown lines are BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers.

  • BOTOX®: BOTOX® is an injectable solution that temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause the formation of lines, creases, and wrinkles. BOTOX® is a safe cosmetic treatment that can be completed in just a few minutes. Within a few days of treatment, patients notice significant improvement in the appearance of frown lines, with many patients reporting that they are gone completely. The results of BOTOX® can last for several months, and treatment can be repeated as needed to maintain a more youthful appearance.
  • Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers are injected into the skin. However, rather than relaxing the facial muscles, dermal fillers restore volume to the treatment site. Using products such as Radiesse™, Juvederm™, and Restylane®, Dr. Hove can fill in lines and creases to smooth out facial skin and eliminate the appearance of frown lines. These treatments will need to be repeated for lasting effects, but results from a single treatment can last up to nine months.

Brow Lift

The longest lasting and most effective treatment for frown lines is cosmetic surgery. The surgical procedure that is most appropriate for frown lines is a brow lift. During brow lift surgery, Dr. Hove smooths and tightens the tissues and muscles along the brow line and forehead. Dr. Hover offers endoscopic brow lift surgery, which is minimally invasive and results in a fairly quick recovery period. This procedure can significantly improve the appearance of the forehead, minimizing the signs of aging.
